We are having a special meeting this coming Thursday evening April 29th, starting at 6:30 pm at hangar 3001 Alpha to make our plans for the Oceano fly-in that will be on Saturday May 8th.

We are ordering pizza so please R.S.V.P.

Los Osos developer Jeff Edwards schedules another Oceano Airport closure meeting…

Oceano Airport is under attack by a Los Osos Developer who would like to bulldoze the airport and develop the area commercially. He is holding a series of six “public” meetings over the next six months. The first meeting was held on Wednesday March 17th. Over 60 pilots attended the meeting, but only a handful were allowed in the room. Although there were six-eight empty seats, Mr. Edwards denied access to those who indicated they were pilots.

The public is encouraged to attend Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 4:00pm at the Filipino Community Center located at 885 South 13th Street, Grover Beach.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 13th, in Hangar 3001A, at 7:00 pm. We can order in, if the members decide that they would like, at the meeting.

The public is invited and can be escorted through the security perimeter by members; just turn on Hangar Street then right on Airpark Dr to the end gate.

As always, meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month and the public is invited. This post will be updated when the meeting location has been arranged.

The August meeting will be at the Central Coast Jet Center at 7 PM, upstairs in the conference room. It’s not a pot luck and it’s not a BBQ.

The Blue Angels will be at Salinas this weekend for the California International Airshow.

The next Chapter meeting will also be a Pot Luck dinner.  Bring the same items as last year.  If you’re new to the Pot Luck this year, then bring something special.  Meeting will be held at Don Ayres’ hangar, right next to the museum’s back door.  Start time around 6:30 pm-ish.  See you there….
