Eric Paton from San Luis Obispo, will present a program about Flight Simulators at the Santa Maria Museum of Flight. Chapter 499′s meeting starts at 6:30 pm and the program begins after the meeting. Fly This Sim (FTS) supplies software for people who wish to build their own “Glass” or “Steam” cockpit. Flight simulators are a great way to stay confident in your flying. Practice instrument procedures, radio communication, emergencies, and landings. Enjoy the hands-on challenge of building a simulator, followed by the fun and mental capacity to fly it. FTS will briefly review the advantages of flight sims then describe the hardware, skills, cost, and time needed to build a flight simulator in your home or flight school. A demonstration cockpit will be available on-site for you to fly. FTS strives to provide the same level of fidelity and accuracy required by real pilots in instrument meteorological conditions.
